Mark Reuss, GM's EVP of Global Product Development says of the new 1500: "With the all-new Silverado, we've taken the best truck on the road and made it even better. It has a longer wheelbase, more passenger and cargo volume, and yet, thanks to our mixed materials strategy and mass reduction expertise, the new truck is 450 pounds lighter than the current model."
Just about every feature imaginable is available somewhere in the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lineup, but even the most basic version aimed at contractors and fleets is better equipped than many rival base models. The entry level Silverado 1500 WT features the 4.3-liter V6 and even includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen Chevrolet 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. At the other end of the scale the High Country comes with power-retractable running boards, a power-up/down gate function, front and rear park-assist, Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium with navigation, a Bose premium sound system, an Advanced Trailering Package and much more.
As for safety features, all 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models come with six airbags, trailer sway control, hill start assist, and a rearview camera, but some very advanced safety features are available throughout the range. Among the most advanced features available are a following distance indicator and forward collision alert, which are available as part of the available Safety Package.
