Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve vehicles and take them to the stall area after receiving the work order from the dispatcher.
  • In accordance with all factory and dealership standards, perform the work required by the repair order efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform expert diagnosis of problems reported and fix the problems as authorized.
  • Maintain professional communication with the Parts Department for the acquiring of necessary parts.
  • When requested by the customer or required by warranty, tag and set aside parts to be turned in.
  • Inform the service advisor of any changes in your work schedule, e.g., work isn’t necessary, more work is necessary, or work won’t be finished in the time frame allotted.
  • Keep thorough documentation of work performed.
  • Make use of road tests to ensure that customer complaints have been fully addressed.
  • Use quality checks to assess work performed.
  • Attend all training classes.
  • Keep up-to-date with all factory technical bulletins.
  • Take charge in ensuring that the customer’s vehicle is kept clean.
  • Help others and yourself administer all safety and housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Know and obey all regulations, be they federal, local, or state, regarding service and repair work.
